Washington, D.C. (May 20, 2019, FSMIS) – His Excellency, President David W. Panuelo, kicked off his official meetings in Washington D.C. this morning, first with a call on the Honorable David Bernhardt, U.S. Secretary of the Department of the Interior. The appropriateness of the first call on the Department of Interior is significant in light of the Department’s role in implementing the Compact of Free Association (COFA). The Department continues to play a key role in the U.S.-FSM relations on a day-to-day basis.
