Washington D.C. – On November 08, 2018, immediately after the U.S. midterm elections, Ambassador Akilino H. Susaia reached out to members of the U.S. Congress who are traditional supporters of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), both in the House and Senate, conveying congratulations on their recent elections to the U.S. Congress. Some of these members include the Hawaii congressional delegation, Guam congressional delegation, the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas (CNMI) and American Samoa congressional delegation. They also include avid supporters with the likes of Chairwoman Lisa Murkowsky (R-AK), Rep. Don Young (R-AK), and Rep. Thomas Suozzi (D-NY). In his letters, Ambassador Susaia reiterated the FSM’s desire to continue working with the U.S. Congress on matters of mutual interest to both the United States and the Federated States of Micronesia and to a larger extent the Freely Associated States including the Republic of the Marshall Islands and the Republic of Palau.
