Washington D.C., May 21, 2019 – His Excellency David W. Panuelo, President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), was at U.S. Capitol Hill in the Longworth Building’s Natural Resources Committee Room this evening, May 21st, 2019, attending a reception held in the honor of the visiting Presidents of the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the FSM. The three Ambassadors of the Micronesian Embassies in D.C hosted the reception, which was attended by some prominent members of the U.S. Congress as well as key congressional staffers.

Washington DC, April 09, 2019- On Thursday, 21st of March 2019, student-members of the Pacific Island Law Student Association (PILA) from William S. Richardson School of Law in Honolulu, Hawaii paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Susaia. Those who attended the call include Mr. Eddie Yeichy 3rd year Law Student, Mr. Rockyner Hadley 1st year law student, and Ms. Beverlyn Simina 2nd year law student. They were accompanied by the President of their association Mr. Ian Tapu, who is also 2nd year law student.

Secretary Lawrence in D.C. for IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings

Washington DC, April 22, 2019- Secretary Lawrence was in D.C. to attend the Spring Meetings for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) held from 8 – 14 April 2019. At the meetings, Secretary Lawrence met with Ms. Victoria Kwakwa, Vice President of the World Bank. She also met with World Bank Executive Director Kunil Hwang, who represents the constituency at the World Bank that includes the FSM as a member. Secretary Lawrence later met with Executive Director Nigel Ray, who represents FSM at the IMF Board of Executive Directors.
